I’ve been a little quiet around here lately. Partly due to the deadline I have looming over me, and partly due to the fires in L.A. Writing about dating and relationships feels a bit strange to me at the moment when there’s so much suffering going on. Although my friend in L.A. told me that, since the fires started, people are receiving a slew of text messages from exes and Tinder matches like it’s Christmas morning. So it’s not like people aren’t dating right now — heck, I even went out on a first date last week.
But this post isn’t about my first date. I know — that is what you came for. I blame my years in journalism and experience with clickbait titles. It’s just too easy at times!
Look, I probably will write about the date at another time. Maybe? I’ll have to see. Dancing that line between public and private is tricky when you’re in the middle of a story. But, yes, it was good! In fact, it’s still in progress. The connection — not the actual date. Let’s not get crazy. I’m not going for some world record in a first date’s length. I can’t imagine spending that much time one-on-one with someone. Which probably explains why I’m not married? LOL
Anyway. I wanted to write to you today because I noticed a lot of new subscribers, and I wanted to remind you that I have a lot of essays and articles on dating and relationships in my archives — some of which are totally free. I’ll list a few below!
Of course all of my work, including my entire archive library, is accessible with a paid subscription, and if you feel called to support my work, then I would really appreciate it. In fact, I would appreciate it more now than ever as I’m going through a transitional period in my professional life, and anything — like $6 for the month — would help. I love this newsletter, and I love serving people through my love of love. I’m looking forward to what’s coming up and sharing more with you soon!
So, as I say every time, thank you for being here. Truly.
Love, Brie
P.S. Let me know how January is going for you…I think we’re all feeling it right now in some way or another…let’s support one another!

I watched Nobody Wants This twice within one week not just because I was so horny for Hot Rabbi Noah’s (Adam Brody) emotional availability – like the rest of my Millennial women cohorts – but because I think Joanne (Kristen Bell) is me.
