I hate that film for its treatment of Emma and Laura but I also LOVE it despite myself because: Bill Nighy! And Hugh Grant! I'm preeeetttyy sure that if Richard Curtis could go back in time and rewrite this women characters, he would, because the movie has not aged well
100% agree. I used to be a fan like everyone else in the early oughts and over time realized it was actually terrible and we were all duped thanks to the times we were living. The same can be said for the Sex and the City series, unfortunately. I was a die hard SATC fan and owned every season on DVD. I tried to rewatch some episodes a couple of years ago and they were just cringe worthy beyond belief. Terrible dialog, terrible character depiction, terrible messages, the whole 9. I was a bit sad about that actually.

If it was a movie that was only about Hugh dancing to the Pointer Sisters… then maybe I could get on board!
like watching a documentary about cheese, sitting on a sofa made of cheese, eating easy cheese from a spray can
🧀
I have always abhorred that film.
it's so bad!
It really is and always was.
