Don’t let those Hallmark Christmas movies fool you. Right now is not the most wonderful time of the year for some couples. According to some data collected — including from Meta and the Flirtini dating app — December 11th is the most popular day for relationships to end.

Additionally, Google searches for ‘how to break up over text’ have gone up by +256% and ‘how to break up with your girlfriend’ are up +126% around this time of year.

I guess two weeks before Christmas is enough time to clear your conscience. Hey! There’s a lot of Grinches out there, right?

Flirtini’s findings reveal that nearly three-quarters of daters have had a relationship end during the holiday season.

The top culprits: the pressure to invite a partner to holiday gatherings (50.6%), feeling rushed to commit (45.9%), and the anxiety of gift-giving (40.4%).

Wait, are people seriously breaking up over the anxiety of GIFT GIVING?
